Advantages to using your spa – Greater Sacramento Area

Published: Wednesday, October 03, 2012

Hi all!

The Summer season never seems to end! This week is still in the mid 90’s and won’t drop down until the end of the weekend. However, after that, it should get a little cooler out! Here at Leisure Time, we are have been experiencing a HUGE number of calls about spa service, spa startups, and spa repair. We covered some of those topics in our last blog, so we thought it would be a great idea to write about the advantages of using your spa, called Hydrotherapy! Below are some reasons you should get your spa ready for the winter asap!

1. Stress

  • Warm water massages and stimulates the body to release endorphins, a chemical manufactured by the brain and naturally reduces stress.
  • Spa’s hyrdo jets also dilate blood vessels preventing headaches.
  • Also, soaking in warm water before sleeping enhances a better night’s sleep.
  • Massage works to relax muscles and relieve pressure on nerves.

2. Muscle and joint relaxation

  • Your skin and muscles loosen and relax from increased blood circulation throughout the body when submerged in warm water. Naturally, the increased blood flows more towards injured muscles and joints, bringing nutrients to repair the damage.
  • Buoyancy reduces body weight by 90%, relieving pressure on joints and muscles.

3. Diabetes

  • A Colorado study of diabetes patients who soaked in a spa 30 minutes a day, 6 days a week found the average blood sugar level of the group dropped 13%! It concluded that the use of hot tubs and spas lowers blood pressure and blood sugar level.

4. Arthritis

  • Regular sessions in your hot tub help keep joints moving. It restores and preserves strength and flexibility, and also protects your joints from further damage. A hot tub fulfills the need perfectly by providing the warmth, massage, and buoyancy that is so necessary to the well-being of arthritis sufferers. The buoyancy of the water supports and lessens stress on the joints and encourages freer movement

5. Family

  • Though it is not a documented fact, here at Leisure Time we know that when your family is in the hot tub together, there is more of a chance of deep, meaningful conversation than any other time together. Warm water and therapeutic jets relax and calm the nerves and allow everyone to relax and find  the joy in the simpler things in life away from the tv, smartphones, and laptops! Try it out!

6.  Romance

  • Though no one says it, we all think it! Couples need more romance in their lives nowadays. With job hours becoming longer and responsibilities with children growing everyday, little time is allocated to you and your significant other enjoying each other’s company and getting back to the way things used to be. Though we can’t turn back time, we can visit those moments for a brief while by enjoying your hot tub’s relaxing benefits with your loved one.

We hope that this article enlightens you all to fire up your hot tubs!

Till’ next time!
